How To: Use Any Client With Facebook Chat

Nothing is more annoying then your favorite custom messenger not supporting Facebook chat.

Well there is a fix!

Facebook supports jabber, so you can use almost any client that supports the service.

CNET TV has more info and how to set it up.

Facebook is 6 Years Old, 400 Million Active Users

Facebook yesterday passed its 6 year mark.

Facebook was born in 2004, and with 6 years under its belt is also celebrating 400 million active users.

At this rate Facebook will surpass Yahoo! in overall web traffic by the end of the year.

Currently 36-50 year olds are the most joining.

Facebook takes over AoL in Overall U.S. Traffic

Sorry AoL you no longer have enough traffic to beat Facebook.

comScore is reporting that Facebook now has more monthly traffic then AOL.

While Facebook is growing I (and others) wonder how AOL still commands such a following, although that following is eroding.

So congrats Facebook on another web traffic milestone.

Facebook Knocks Out More Junk

Facebook recently reduced app spam that was annoying the heck of out users, well there’s more.

Facebook is now blocking ads that it feels are a scam.

As since Facebook is a huge website finding enough ads is hard so it’s naturally to have at least some bad ad networks.

Well not no more. So far it’s removed 2 ad networks that where  running less than wanted or scam ads.

This is very good news for Facebook as it shows it cares about ad quality, and the safety of users.

MySpace has done something similar by updating its app ToS removing scam apps.

All I can say is I guess Facebook doesn’t want to pull a CNN in the ad department :P .

So prepare to have a more enjoyable Farmville experience from now on.

News: Facebook's Share Button Is Now More Twitter Like

Facebook’s share button is now tweetmeme like. You have a share button with live stats of shares.

It also now offers publishers stats on how the button was used.

Some say this could spell issues for Digg since its button is like Facebook, but the real issue is because Facebook is much larger then Digg.

Now we have 3 large share buttons to use.
