According to the new york times Facebook is privately testing a iPad app.

Hopefully Facebook finally launches a Facebook app because it would mean better interaction on the device.

But we shall see in the weeks to come, what comes of this.

Apple has released security update 2011-003 today.

Security update 2011-003 is for snow leopard 10.6 based Apple mac computers.

The security update includes security updates, with automatic removal of Mac defender.

Mac OS X 10.6 will also now auto quarantine, remove, and block “malware” from Safari, Mail, and Preview. The feature has been in 10.5, and 10.6 but is has now been enhanced to be updated daily. (link at bottom)

Security update 2011-003 adds; “Automatically update safe downloads list” in the Security pane, in System Preferences. This option appears in Security preferences after Security Update 2011-003 is installed.

Looks like Apple will auto update the list daily to remove “malware”.

So Apple has seen the need for an “antivirus” and has built the feature in.

Security 2011-003 will also auto find, and auto destroy Mac Defender malware and any known variants.

So update your macs now or download the update.

To learn more about the auto quarantine feature view it here on Apples website.

Patent Firm Threatening Lawsuits Over Apps Using Apples In-App-Purchasing

May 13th, 2011

There have been reports of independent developers getting patent infringement warnings via Fed Ex.

It appears the threatening of lawsuits over a patent that regards the exchange of usage data between customer and seller.

Also noted it seems is that the firm is suing independent firms that use Apples In-App Purchasing tool and not Apple itself.

I find it weird but also cowardly to attack developers who make apps rather than the company that may be violating their patents.

It’s also weird to note that there is no legal protected in Canada or the states for developers who may have this kind of problems.
