Canadian Tech Blogger moves away from Godaddy

Recently SOPA (stop online privacy act) has made its rounds in the states.

Basically the bill gives power to media companys to shut down websites without warning. Websites like reddit, Arstechnica, twitter, etc could be shut down in seconds for any reason regarding copyright misuse.

So why are we moving away from godaddy? Well be because they supported SOPA, but they still dont oppose the bill. Because of that we wont support them in anyway.

Recently we moved our web hosting to host gator. Good choice, they oppose SOPA. So now we have moved our domain to name.com. As such we no longer support godaddy. Their commercials are also way to 18a for our liking.

As a blogger or webmaster, you work hard to try and attract new people to your site. However, all of that work is for nothing if the visitor simply turns around and leaves without ever coming back.

Fortunately, there are many great ways that you can connect with your readers and build a relationship with them. Between social networking, bookmarking and private communication, there are many ways you can connect with your readers off of your site and keep them coming back.

However, one of the most compelling means is through an email newsletter. Such newsletters are easy to setup, cheap to maintain and provide a personal, direct and continuous line of communication between you and your readers.
