Norton last week launched nortondns. Norton dns runs from Symantec’s and dynamic dns’ servers. There are other DNS services like Google DNS, and OpenDNS.
Norton says it wants to offer its own DNS service to protect users from malicious software from is community blacklist of websites. Users can vote on a site, and norton will scan it.
OpenDNS also provides phishing protection, and basic malware protection. Google DNS simply just prevents DNS hijacking which all 3 services block.
OpenDNS is the only one to offer you stats, parental controls, domain category listing, and more.
So it’s up to you if you want to use Norton DNS for malware protection, OpenDNS for stats, and phishing protection+ basic malware protection, or Google DNS for speed (even though it’s the slowest).

Actually, OpenDNS does malware protection as well, at least to the same degree or better than what Norton does from what I can tell. Further testing needed.
Ya OpenDNS does not provide the same amount of malware protection as Norton. Updated article.
