Apple Says No To Sex In The App Store

Apple is taking a stance on sexual content in the App Store a bit more now.

An app was pulled from the app store as it was sexually based on the female body.

The email from Apple about them removing the app was:

The App Store continues to evolve, and as such, we are constantly refining our guidelines. Your application, Wobble iBoobs (Premium Uncensored), contains content that we had originally believed to be suitable for distribution. However, we have recently received numerous complaints from our customers about this type of content, and have changed our guidelines appropriately.

We have decided to remove any overtly sexual content from the App Store, which includes your application.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter. If you believe you can make the necessary changes so that Wobble iBoobs (Premium Uncensored) complies with our recent changes, we encourage you to do so and resubmit for review.

Sincerely,

Apple iPhone App Review

Although not everyone is pleased about the move…some are even scared.

Personally I am glad Apple is taking a stand a listing to its customers.

Sure we have uses for apps like that but they can be web apps, they should not be in the app store for obvious reasons.

I think Apple made the correct decision for their business and their customers. They actually listened to customer feedback and then acted on it. That’s the intelligent way to go about making business decisions. It stands as a model for business decision making that Google ought to take notice of.
