Google Wants To Stop Censoring In China: Yahoo, Microsoft Please Follow Suit

January 13th, 2010 by dreamsburnred Leave a reply »

Google has asked China for permission for it to stop censoring google.cn.

While this may seem a reversal from 2006 when Google said this would help users.

Google no longer wants to censor its search engine, even if it means shutting down it’s office in China.

I say this is a very good move for Google.

This is based on human rights, censorship is not the answer.

As such, Yahoo, Microsoft if you are listening please follow suit.

This all started after Gmail accounts of human rights activists in China were hacked. Some say Adobe is also at fault.
