Yahoo looking into discontinuing MyBlogLog?

Recent reports show that Yahoo is uncertain about MyBlogLog’s future.

So uncertain is looking at closing it in January of 2010.

MyBlogLog is a free service from Yahoo! that is very similar to blogcatalog.

MyBlogLog Home screen

It’s a social network for bloggers.

You can join groups of bloggers in your niche, or just your favorite ones.

MyBlogLog was huge in 2007 but it seems to have hit the floor popularity wise.

So like GeoCities, MyBlogLog will soon be an internet past.

I’m wondering exactly How much traffic does any member get from mybloglog? Why? Because my blogs have never received traffic from that site. I have used the large widgets and the small widgets. I have visited profile pages and blogs members who visited my profile page – all to no avail. Worse still, I have noticed an increase in the number of spammers and sploggers registered both at mybloglog and at BlogCatalog. If myblolog goes down I can’t say that I would miss it. Also as the BlogCatalog forum is dominated by those who wish to socialize and chat about anything under the sun, except blogging, what would be lost?

    • Seeing from other blogs, and BC maybe 2-5 a week maybe more if the community of followers is active. Ya lots of spammers at both…got malware from BC once :/. BC also has a lot of “Hey! Hi!…I added you and clicked your ads as a thanks!”. Which is why you barley see any adsense bloggers anymore. I do report them but I do feel the quality of both is horrible. I do get maybe 2-10 hits a MONTH from BC.
