Microsoft Sends Out Mandatory Xbox Update Notice

Coming November the 17th 2009 you will have to update your Xbox 360 to use it on the internet, or play any games.

This forced update will bring face-book, twitter, Zune marketplace, and last.fm. The update will also lock out 3rd party memory units, and modded Xbox 360′s.

The social networking will be limited to Gold members and members who are at least 18 years of age due parental control issues. There is an update planed to add it to 13-17 year old’s when there parents approve.

As such Microsoft has sent an email to all Xbox live users warning of the update.

So really prepare for the 17th, as you will have to update.
