Twitter testing new "1 new tweet" feature

We’re starting a limited test of notifications on twitter.com for when you have new tweets. So if one of the folks you follow has tweeted since you loaded your homepage, you’ll get a little notice saying “1 new tweet” that, when clicked, will display the new content.

We think it improves the tweet consumption experience and hope to roll it out to everyone as soon as we can. – Twitter

This new feature could very well overhaul twitter as we know it.

As before this…unless you had a special client like tweetdeck you would have to manually refresh your homepage to see updated tweets from friends.

Although it won’t work when you are searching twitter or following a trend this feature will very much improve the flow of twitter and make it just that much easier to use.

Hopefully this will be approved ASAP as it would really improve twitter.com
