News: ICANN Approves International Domain Names

October 30th, 2009 by dreamsburnred Leave a reply »

Today ICANN the regulator of domain names approved non-latin (English) domain names.

This is great for international people as it allows them to having  domain names in their native language.

Its called IDN (international domain names).

This is the biggest change since the birth of the internet 40 years ago as the internet is running out of usable domain names, so this will help greatly.

The expected first domain names approved will be in mid-november. Arabic, chinese and others are on the list of accepted languages  approved.
