Simply: Yes.
Why?
- Superfetch has been tamed. It no longer forces memory full for cache unnecessarily.
- UAC has been tamed. It shows less my defult, and is now customizable.
- Indexing has been tamed. It also doesn’t disk hog like in vista.
- Its faster, and lighter. Its no longer as slow as it use to be.
- Its still vista, but worked over.
- Much less amount of errors. Since W7 is based on vista’s code base application compatibility is very high.
- Device stage. Now your os is like a mac, you don’t need drivers windows 7 will fetch them and create a mini “stage” for them. This is really easy device management.
- DX11 the lighter, and much stronger direct x 11 is included.
- Your browser is your choice. (For those in europe). If your in the EU you can pick your browser off the bat.
- The sidebar is gone. Gadgets are now just desktop based and not sidebar based (like yahoo widgets).
- Its cheaper. $120 to upgrade, $220 to start fresh (home premium).
- It has a new tabbed task bar.
- It has aero shake. (Shake a open window to hide or show the rest).
- Its fully aero, even the taskbar now is covered in glass.

So in my opinion windows 7 is the fix for windows vista/what vista should have been. Very nice job microsoft, very proud to see that you listened to us. Thank you.
See the windows 7 tour videos! Note: It requires silverlight.
